so it wont mess with the front page
i don’t want to sound like a know it all but
what i read bothers me a bit.. hehe. ^_^
Code Geass was not made by Clamp
but they were hired to create Character designs
for the anime..
Clamp does not own Code Geass in any way..
I know Sunrise owns it, but anytime Clamp animates it, I can tell and I call it a CLAMP anime, forgive my rudeness.

Today I’ll do a slight review of Sunrise owned and CLAMP animated ‘Half Supernatural Half Cliffhanger’ anime series “Code Geass: Hangyaku No Lelouch” (poster below)
The anime centers on a boy known as Lelouch Lamperouge. As a child some traumatic events caused him to live in Japan with the Japanese Prime Minister of the Kururugi family. The Minister’s son, Suzaku, befriends Lelouch and they spend many nights together until the Britannian Military Force storms and takes over Japan. They consequently strip the Japanese of all their rights and label them, “Elevens” for the area they now reside in, formerly Japan is now called Area 11.
At this stage of his young life, Lelouch vows to Suzaku redemption for all the wrongs Britannia has done him and Japan. The main story picks up here. Fast forward into his teens, and Lelouch is a mild mannered kid at a Britannian University, bored of life. An opportunity of ‘Supernatural’ means is bestowed upon him, and he takes his power as a gift to overthrow Britannia and to restore Japan to its former glory.
While the story has elements of action and mech fighting, I don’t consider this to be a complete mecha as far things go, even though people like to consider it one. The story and how Lelouch handles himself with his new power is a lot more on the forefront then the actual mech battles, which seemingly are secondary to the plot line. There’s a bit of romance, a bit of comedy, but mainly just action and psychological elements as Lelouch tries to overcome the Britannian prescence for personal revenge.
Personally, this one of my favorite animes. It could have been done better in the end, but it was still quite excellent. If you’re looking for good action and the elements previously mentioned, Code Geass is a gourmet feast for your eyes. Even after watching the first series, and the second series which is titled “R2″ for round two, it left that “Hole” feeling, meaning it was worthy of my praises. How I miss Sunrise’s cliffhangers on weekly airings.
Anyways, I hope this short little segment is enough to get some people on fringe wondering about it to actually go ahead and watch it -you’ll be happy you did!
