This reminds me of Toradora in the way that the gorgeous ending song can start to play and hit just the right notes at just the right moments before transitioning into the actual credit sequence. A good director maybe? Shows how psychological programming can turn a sound we are accustomed to associate with an “ending” into an emotional sledgehammer of sad finality.
