Full Metal Alchemist Dark Fantasy Coming to Anime

Full Metal Alchemist was probably one of the most successful anime series of all time. There is no question that at the peak of its popularity, there were few other anime series that had the ability to compete with it. It was certainly popular outside of the Japanese market as well, which leant quite a bit of credence to the overall excellence of the series. Now, Full Metal Alchemist will be launching a spin-off of the original series which will be based on a manga of the same name known as Dark Fantasy. The Full Metal Alchemist: Dark Fantasy anime television series will be greatly helped along by the appearance of a number of familiar faces.

Edward and Alphonse Elric will be back on the scene as the main characters once again in Dark Fantasy and perhaps what is even more encouraging to fans is the fact that their original voice actors of Romi Paku and Rie Kugimiya will be back in business, playing their old characters once again. Yasuhiro Irie, who will be the director of Dark Fantasy, has had experience in contributing to segments of the first Full Metal Alchemist and for that reason many fans expect that there will be a large amount of familiarity within the overall design of the new series even as they surge forward to deal with bigger and better plots.
